Warranty

This page contains important warranty information. Please take time to review it so that you will become familiar with your rights and proper procedures for the repair or return of your SP Technology Loudspeakers, Inc. product should it ever become necessary.

It is important to remember that the dealer from which you purchased the product is the main contact entity concerning any questions that you may have or repair / return services that may be required.

There exists within the "high end" audio community a certain sect of individuals that find "modifying" their own or others' equipment a rewarding hobby. While we can appreciate such and encourage this "spirit of experimentation," we must advise you as our valued customer that any unauthorized "modifications" will automatically VOID the warranty of our products. Any such experimentation should be reserved for peripheral equipment choices, cables, speaker placement, room treatment, etc. The “re-engineering” of precision products such as ours carries far greater risks than any perceived and unlikely rewards would justify.

As a side note to those of such curiosities--every component selected in this product has been chosen with the main priorities being performance and finish. You would find there to be no benefit in changing any of the sub-components to begin with. Over a decade of R&D has gone into developing the SP Technology Loudspeaker product lines and therefore, it is extremely doubtful that an afternoon's worth of "tinkering" would prove fruitful--trust us. In fact, the odds are that you would do more harm than good. A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing.

As an example, it is often "assumed" that the resistive "loss" of an inductor in the crossover network of a speaker is a "bad" thing and replacing one with another of lower DC-Resistance a source of improvement. This would be a serious and somewhat naïve mistake in this case though. The losses in all of the components in the crossovers of our products are an integral part of achieving the designed "target" response.

The crossover in every Millennial Reference Series™ product is “hand tuned" on the test bench to achieve the +/- 2 dB (+/- 1 dB typical) response the system provides. A reduction or increase in any of these values would degrade and possibly even destroy this high degree of accuracy. So please resist temptation and leave well enough alone.

Also, as noted in the SETUP and MAINTENANCE sections of the Owners Manual as well as in the legal WARRANTY, any foreign debris that has been introduced into the "Voice Coil Gap" of the woofer, a "pushed-in" tweeter dome, or driver damage due to electrical power in excess of the system ratings will VOID the warranty. A certain amount of responsibility for the protection and maintenance of this product lies with you, the owner.

As a final note, a warranty card is included in the front pocket of this manual which must be filled out and sent to SP Technology Loudspeakers, Inc. by the dealer from which the product was purchased. If it has not, then please return it to the dealer so this can be done. It is for YOUR guaranteed protection that we require that this be handled by them.
